Dog Days
...our Library dogs

When the weather turns hot and muggy and the calendar is saying "back to school," you know the "dog days" of summer have begun. During the month of August, the Youth Services Department pays tribute to the "dog days" with a special display of books, movies, and stories about... what else? Dogs!

Many Skokie Public Library staff members share their lives with dogs or have fond memories of dogs who have passed away. Some of our dogs are family pets, others are "granddogs," "dogs-in-law," "stepdogs," or neighborhood dogs who stop by for treats and a pat on the head. Each of our Library dogs is friend, family, or faithful companion to someone who works at Skokie Public Library. Next time you visit the Library, ask our staff to tell you about their dogs!
