Teen and Adult "Design a Book Jacket" Entries
Skokie Reads!
During Skokie Reads! Month, residents and students in Skokie were invited to pick their favorite book and design a cover that they felt reflected the true spirit of the book. Children through adults were invited to enter the "Design a Book Jacket" contest.
Ninety designs were submitted, predominately from teens at Niles North High School and 5th grade students from a variety of elementary schools. In December 2006, a committee from Skokie Public Library and its Board of Trustees will select one winner from each category to receive a framed "Read!" poster of the winner and his or her family or friends reading their favorite books.
