The Man Booker Prize
With this highly coveted award, the Booker Prize Foundation annually
honors the author of an English language novel published
in the United
Kingdom in the current year. In addition to other eligibility requirements,
the title must not be self-published, and the author must be a citizen of
the British Commonwealth or the Republic of Ireland. The Booker Prize was
established in 1968 by publisher Tom Maschler and what was then Booker
Brothers. Formerly sponsored by Booker McConnell, Ltd., it is now sponsored
by the Man Group. (This award description was taken from NoveList, a database dedicated to helping readers find fiction titles,
award winning books, and similar titles and authors.) Visit the Man Booker Prize official website for more information about this award.
All of these titles are located in the Adult Fiction section of the Library unless otherwise noted.
